According to one embodiment, the glass container may comprise a body formed from a Type I, Class B glass composition in accordance with ASTM standard E438-92. The body can have an inner surface, an outer surface, and a thickened portion that extends between the outer surface and the inner surface. The body can also have a compressive stress layer extending from at least one of the outer surface and the inner surface to the wall thickness.
