The present invention provides a toothbrush in which bristle bundles are anchored in a plurality of bristle-anchoring holes formed in an bristle-anchoring surface of a head section, wherein the toothbrush is characterized by the following: the bristle-anchoring surface is provided with a middle bristle bundle group consisting of a plurality of middle bristle bundles disposed in parallel in the length direction of the head section, and outside bristle bundle groups consisting of outside bristle bundles that are located on both sides in the width direction of the head section and are located on both sides in the width direction of the middle bristle bundle group the outside bristle bundles that constitute the outside bristle bundle groups are formed of tapered bristles the anchored bristle density is at least 3,000 bristles/cm2 the width of each of the outside bristle bundle groups on both sides in the width direction of the head section is 20 to 30% with respect to the breadth of the head section the use-bristles that constitute the middle bristle bundles and the tapered bristles that constitute the outside bristle bundles both have a height of 8.5 mm or less and the anchored bristle density of the middle bristle bundle group is 400 to 1,000 bristles/cm2.
