A novel pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing hepatocellular carcinoma and a method of treatment are provided. A pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing liver cancer is obtained by combining a chemotherapeutic agent with an anti-glypican 3 antibody. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing liver cancer which comprises as an active ingredient an anti-glypican 3 antibody for use in combination with a chemotherapeutic agent, or which comprises as an active ingredient a chemotherapeutic agent for use in combination with an anti-glypican 3 antibody. Using the chemotherapeutic agent and the anti-glypican 3 antibody in combination yields better therapeutic effects than using the chemotherapeutic agent alone, and mitigates side effects that arise from liver cancer treatment with the chemotherapeutic agent.本發明提供一種使用於治療或預防肝細胞癌的新型醫藥組成物及治療方法。本發明揭示一種組合化學療法劑及Glypican-3抗體所成之使用於治療或預防肝癌的醫藥組成物。又，亦揭示含有Glypican-3抗體作為有效成分，倂用化學療法劑而使用於治療或預防肝癌的醫藥組成物、以及含有化學療法劑作為有效成分，且倂用Glypican-3抗體而使用於治療或預防肝癌的醫藥組成物。藉由倂用化學療法劑與Glypican-3抗體，比化學療法劑以單獨處方時可發揮更有效之治療效果，可減少因化學療法劑的肝癌治療結果所引起的副作用。
