PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply constituted eyeground camera by which an operator can observe and image the eye and has no stress on continuous imaging. SOLUTION: This eyeground camera is equipped with an illumination optical system which is an illumination light source commonly used for observation and imaging and steadily emits light quantity required for imaging, an observation optical system for observing an eyeground lit by the illumination light for observation, an imaging optical system to image an eyeground lit by the illumination light for imaging, a filter detachably placed on the light path of the illumination optical system to adjust the illumination light to observation, a shutter placed on the light path of the illumination optical system to shut/pass the illumination light, and a control means which controls to attach/detach the filter in the light path and to open/shut the shutter, so that the controller opens the shutter and puts the filter into the illumination light path in observation, puts the filter out from the illumination light path, and flashes the illumination light in imaging.
