A bone cement composition contains (a) the product of a polymerisationreaction between ahigh molecular weight dimethacrylate monomer having a molecular weight of atleast 250and bearing at least one hydrophilic group, a monofunctional methacrylatemonomer havinga molecular weight of not more than 250 bearing at least one hydrophilicgroup, amethacrylate monomer, and a polymer having a molecular weight of at least200,000, and (b)an inorganic filler which is present in an amount of at least about 40% byweight, based onthe total weight of the cement composition.
