PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device applying light necessary for the growth of plants, excellent in costs and measures against heat in comparison with a conventional one, and performing efficient light irradiation to the plants. SOLUTION: The lighting device 10 comprises a translucent or transparent case 16 set between raising seedling beds 14, and a plurality of light sources such as exterior electric fluorescent tubes 18 arranged at the inside space of the case 16 in parallel to apply the light to plants 12 on the raising seedling beds 14 at both sides of the case 16.
