The present invention provides a method for identifying and verifying an animal by using biometric information of the moving animal and a system thereof. More particularly, the present invention provides a method and a system which convert image data of an animal into 3D data to extract biometric information reinforced in consideration of the movement of the animal, extract the biometric information corresponding to 3D coordinates or an area, register biometric template information reinforced with the 3D coordinates or the area for each animal, convert the image data into the 3D data when the image data of the animal is acquired in case of that identification and verification of the animal are required, inquire a server about the biometric information extractable at the 3D coordinates or in the area together with 3D coordinate or area information, and identify the corresponding animal as the registered animal when information identical to or similar to the template information stored at the 3D coordinates or in the area is present.
