The device includes a first chamber including Mesna in solid form, a second chamber including a buffer and at least one outlet for delivering the Mesna formulation, the outlet is. being in fluid communication with at least one of the chambers. The chambers are separated from each other by at least one disruptable separator and are in fluid communication with each other upon disruption of the separator thereby forming the Mesna formulation. The pH of the buffer in the second chamber is at least 8.5. A process for the preparation of a Mesna formulation.
