PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of extending a base line length so as to be larger than an outer diameter of the endoscope, while downsizing the endoscopes diameter.SOLUTION: An endoscope has a configuration comprising: a pair of stereo optical members 20 forming two optical paths (right side optical path 25R, left side optical path 25L) having a parallax one image formation optical system 15 for making light passing through light paths of the pair of stereo optical members 20 form images in a shared area one imaging element 17 provided at an imaging position of the image formation optical system 15 and a frame 16 which accommodates the image formation optical system 15 and the imaging element 17, and supports the pair of stereo optical members 20 in a state of being folded and in a state of being exposed (first state, second state) so as to be displaceable between the states.
