PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmometer capable of moving a measurement head from one eye to the other eye to further expedite the alignment operation of the other eye.SOLUTION: The ophthalmometer 1 includes: a measurement head 3 to be movable in vertical, horizontal and forward/backward directions a monitor unit 10 having a display screen 25 for displaying an image of an eye to be inspected a drive control circuit unit 8 for driving the measurement head 3 and a pupil center detecting circuit unit 24 for detecting the center of the pupil on the screen. The drive control circuit unit 8 stores a predetermined movement amount X in which the measurement head 3 is to be moved from a machine center position MO on left-right direction of the measurement head 3 to the one eye, and the converted deviation amount &Dgr of deviation obtained by converting the deviation amount &Dgr between a reference position G0 on the screen when the measurement head 3 is moved by the predetermined movement amount X and the center position of the pupil on the screen into the deviation amount of the measurement head 3 measures the one eye followed by driving the measurement head 3, from the position opposite to the one eye toward the position opposite to the other eye, by the movement amount twice as much as the sum of the converted deviation amount &Dgr and the predetermined movement amount X.
