The present invention relates to a bifunctional peptide capable of activating collagen synthesis and of inhibiting the production of matrix metalloproteinases, said peptide having a sequence comprising three peptide parts A, B and C: the first peptide part A corresponding to a hexapeptide repeated at least three times, said part A being able to bind to an elastin-binding receptor protein to stimulate collagen synthesis, - the second peptide part B corresponding to a tetrapeptide capable of acting as a competitive inhibitor of the urokinase protease and to be cleaved by said protease, and - the third peptide portion C corresponding to a tripeptide occupying at least one active site matrix metalloproteinases to allow inhibition of said proteinases. The present invention further relates to a cosmetic and / or pharmaceutical composition incorporating the bifunctional peptide.La présente invention concerne un peptide bifonctionnel apte à activer la synthèse de collagène et à inhiber la production de métallo-protéinases matricielles, ledit peptide présentant une séquence comportant trois parties peptidiques A, B et C : - la première partie peptidique A correspondant à un hexapeptide répété au moins trois fois, ladite partie A étant apte à se lier à une protéine récepteur liant l'élastine pour stimuler la synthèse de collagène, - la deuxième partie peptidique B correspondant à un tétrapeptide apte à agir en tant qu'inhibiteur compétitif de la protéase urokinase et à être clivé par ladite protéase, et, - la troisième partie peptidique C correspondant à un tripeptide occupant au moins un site actif des métalloprotéinases matricielles pour permettre une inhibition desdites protéinases. La présente invention concerne encore une composition cosmétique et/ou pharmaceutique incorporant le peptide bifonctionnel.
