Disclosed is a defecation and urination detection device having a defecation and urination receiving member which faces the body of a person and receives defecation and urination a temperature sensor which is disposed in the defecation and urination receiving member and a control unit which determines that either stool or urine has been excreted on the basis of the rate at which the temperature falls after detection of a rise in the temperature in the signal output from the temperature sensor.
