The present invention provides a composition which comprises (i) about 0.05 to 0.5 wt% of retinol； (ii) a polar softener selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol stearyl ether, dicaprylyl carbonate, propylene glycol isostearate and combinations thereof； and (iii) isohexadecane. The weight ratio of the polar softener to the isohexadecane is 1 : 1 or less. The composition is an anhydrous composition.
