The invention relates to macroalgae composition, consisting essentially of macroalgae extract for use as sports nutrition and for improvement in sexual health. More particularly, the invention relates to macroalgae composition, comprising of medium and long chain fatty acids in a ratio of about 1: 0.0005 to 1: 0.1 and saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in a ratio of about 1:0.5 to 1:10. The composition is prepared by extracting macroalgae selected from green, red and/ or brown seaweeds or the combinations using suitable non-polar, semi-polar and polar organic and/or inorganic solvents and the combinations thereof. The composition enhances exercise endurance, resistance to muscle fatigue and supports protein synthesis as sports nutrition. The composition also improves sexual health by enhancing biomarkers such as testosterone and nitric oxide and inhibiting phosphodiesterase 5 and 11. The composition is prepared by economical and industrially viable process and it is safe for human consumption.
