To provide a support for adhesive tapes which shows excellent uniformity in spite of a low basis weight and excellent hand tearability and generates less lint and static electricity.
SOLUTION: The support for adhesive tapes comprises a fiber structure which is made of a synthetic fiber composed mainly of (A) a pulp fiber and (B) a thermobondable synthetic fiber by an air-laid method. The mixing ratio of (A) the pulp fiber to (B) the synthetic fiber is shown as (A) the pulp fiber/(B) the synthetic fiber (wt.%) = (3 to 30)/(97 to 70). Fineness of the synthetic fiber is 0.5-5 decitex.
