The present disclosure provides a method of estimating lupeol in a sample. The method comprises the steps of preparing a sample of Manasamitra Vatakam wherein manasamitra vatakam is anticipated to contain lupeol. A standard solution of lupeol is prepared for estimation purposes.The chrmoatographic behavior of Lupeol is optimized using an experimental design approach called Central Composite Design model. The test sample is then subjected to chromatography to obtain a chromatogram. The chromatogram is then analyzed for retention time of the separated components to estimate lupeol in Manasamitra Vatakam.
