The harvester has a leaf chopper stored between rows for removing beet leaves, green sprout and plant parts (P) from a harvested crop (E). A tool (W) in form of a topper is provided in a travel direction (F) behind a hack element (8) of the chopper. The plant parts collected by the chopper provide a delivery rate (A) that is shifted by subsequent tools. The delivery rate provided by the chopper is displaceable against travel direction, and is delivered with a lateral displacement (D) to the respective beets row behind the subsequent tool.
