PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can visually detect the position of a blood vessel by being brought into contact with the skin of a subject.

SOLUTION: This blood vessel position detecting instrument is used for visually detecting the position of a blood vessel by bringing the instrument into contact with the skin of the subject. The blood vessel position detecting utensil includes a flat platelike board having a hole section, a first surface and a second surface, and a plurality of light-emitting diodes which are arranged around the hole section of the first surface of the board. Then, the light-emitting diodes are manufactured by direct bonding. When being observed from the space of the hole section, the blood vessel becomes a shadow with a diffused light from the inside of the skin by the light in a visible range as the background, and the position of the blood vessel can be checked with naked eyes.
