PURPOSE: An onion treating apparatus is provided to remove roots of an onion with a cutter while efficiently aligning the roots of the onion downwards while integrally processing and sorting the roots of the onion. CONSTITUTION: An onion treating apparatus comprises the following: an input unit(20) moving inputted onions(10)； a foreign material removal unit(30) separating foreign materials from the supplied onions by the input unit； a cutter(44) removing roots of the onions； a washing unit(50) washing the onions with a brush； a sorting unit(70) sorting the onions in size； a cutter unit including an air gun(46), a plurality of conveyor belts and the cutter； and an onion guide guiding the onions towards a separation space.본 발명에 따른 양파처리장치는 투입된 양파를 이동시키는 투입유닛； 상기 투입유닛에 의해 공급된 양파의 이물질을 분리시키는 이물질 제거유닛； 상기 이물질이 분리된 양파의 뿌리가 아래쪽을 향하도록 압축공기를 양파에 분사시켜 양파의 뿌리가 하측을 향하도록 하고, 하측에 배치된 양파의 뿌리를 커터를 통해 제거시키는 커터유닛； 상기 뿌리가 제거된 양파와 브러쉬를 마찰시켜 상기 양파를 세척시키는 세척유닛 및 예각의 사이각(b)이 형성되도록 배치되고, 이격거리가 증가되도록 배치된 복수개의 양파가이드 위로 상기 세척된 양파를 공급하여 상기 복수개의 양파가이드 사이로 양파를 낙하시킴으로서 상기 양파를 크기 별로 분류시키는 선별유닛을 포함하기 때문에, 이동되는 양파의 뿌리가 하측을 향하도록 정렬시킬 뿐만 아니라 정렬된 양파의 뿌리를 커터를 통해 효과적으로 제거시킬 수 있다.
