The present invention discloses an instrument for postpartum insertion of intra-uterine device (IUD) which is packaged in pouch with transparent cover and is terminally sterilized. The instrument consists of a flexi-rigid long tube with IUD parked at the fundal end, in the same shape and orientation as it is required ~o maintain while at uterus. The orientation is ascertainable by way of a· related projection at gripping end. This ensures that IUD is NOT placed in non-horizontal, which is otherwise possible due to enlarged size of postpartum uterus.Un instrumento para inserción postparto de un dispositivo intrauterino (DIU), que es dimensionado y es flexible, como adecuado para el útero después del parto y puede llevar de manera segura el DIU hasta fondo del útero y en orientación específica. El DIU se coloca cerca del fondo del útero al forzarlo de manera externa. Con este instrumento, el proceso se lleva a cabo poco después de dar a luz y por lo tanto es conveniente para la mujer que no espera regresar al hospital para una implantación anticonceptiva intrauterina.
