The arrangement comprises a cold-storage space (1) for food portions and a heating means (2), and also a control system (3) provided with a user interface, and a central database (105) of the meal service company. The arrangement comprises means for monitoring the temperature of the food portions in the delivery chain from the factory (101) to the customers, and means for connecting the temperature data to the identification code (34) of the food portion, and means for transmitting the monitored temperature data to the central database (105).
