ANIMAL MANAGEMENT AND ANIMAL WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY WHERE THE WASTE FALLS TO A BASEMENT AND THE LIQUID WASTE IS FURTHER COLLECTED IN A WASTE RESERVOIR THROUGH A VALVED CONDUIT
An animal waste management facility comprises a plurality of animal shelter structures each positioned adjacent to another. Each animal shelter structure 20 comprises a floor to support animals, where the floor includes apertures that allow animal waste matter to pass through the floor, a basement 167 below the floor for collecting the waste matter, floor supports to support the floor above the basement 167, and side supports which support a water impervious canopy above at least part of the floor. The canopy allows at least some light to pass through. There is at least one air flow control means to control airflow in the area below the canopy. The basement 167 is provided for collection of animal waste that falls directly from animals standing on the floor. The waste passes through the apertures in the floor into the basement 167. Each basement 167 comprises at least one valved conduit 170 associated therewith, with the providing for independent ducting of liquid animal waste from each basement 167 to a liquid animal waste storage reservoir 109. The ducting of liquid animal waste from each basement 167 to the liquid animal waste storage reservoir 109 is by hydrostatic pressure.
