The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating chronic obstructive lung diseases, wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains a Magnoliae flos extract, a fraction fractionalized by using an organic solvent thereof, an active fraction, or a compound separated therefrom as an active ingredient. It has been confirmed that the magnoliae flos extract, the fraction fractionalized by using an organic solvent thereof, the active fraction, or the compound separated therefrom can be used in treating chronic obstructive lung diseases by inhibiting promoter activity or expression of MUC5AC induced by TNF- in a human lung cancer mucosal cell (H292), inhibiting the number of inflammation cells in a bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of a chronic obstructive lung disease mouse model, inhibiting the generation of an active oxygen group, and reducing cytokine. Accordingly, the magnoliae flos extract, the fraction fractionalized by using an organic solvent thereof, the active fraction, or the compound separated therefrom can be useful as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating chronic obstructive lung diseases.본 발명은 신이(Magnoliae flos) 추출물, 이의 유기용매를 이용하여 분획한 분획물, 활성 분획물, 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물 중 어느 하나를 유효성분으로 함유하는 만성폐쇄성 폐질환 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 신이 추출물, 이의 유기용매를 이용하여 분획한 분획물, 활성 분획물, 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물이 인간 폐암점막세포(H292)세포에서 TNF-α에 의해 유도된 MUC5AC의 발현 또는 프로모터 활성을 억제하고, 만성폐쇄성 폐질환 마우스 모델의 기관지폐포세척액에서 염증세포의 수를 억제하고, 활성산소족의 생성을 억제하며, 사이토카인을 감소시킴으로써 만성폐쇄성 폐질환의 치료에 사용할 수 있음을 확인하였으므로, 본 발명의 신이 추출물, 이의 유기용매를 이용하여 분획한 분획물, 활성 분획물, 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물은 만성폐쇄성 폐질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
