A man-made vitreous fibre (MMVF) plant growth substrate is provided. The substrate has properties including a volume of 3 to 20 litres, two layers of differing density, and the use of an organic binder selected from formaldehyde free binders. This is found to provide a substrate which allows excellent control of the water and/or nutrient contents within the substrate when used for plant growth.La présente invention concerne un substrat de croissance de plante de fibre vitreuse synthétique (MMVF). Le substrat a des propriétés comprenant un volume de 3 à 20 litres, deux couches de masses volumiques différentes, et l'utilisation d'un liant organique choisi parmi des liants sans formaldéhyde. Il est observé que cela produit un substrat qui permet un excellent contrôle des teneurs en eau et/ou en nutriment dans le substrat lorsqu'il est utilisé pour la croissance de plante.
