The use according to claim 1, wherein the anesthetic agent is a local anesthetic. The use according to claim 2, in which the local anesthetic is selected from benzocaine, chlorprocaine, cocaine, cyclomethicaine, dimethocaine, propoxicaine, procaine, proparacaine, tetracaine, articaine, bupivacaine, cinchocaine, ethidocaine, levobupivacaine, lepocaine, pripocaine, pepacin, pripocaine, trimecaine and their combinations. 4. The use of claim 2, wherein the local anesthetic is diclonin or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof, preferably diclonin hydrochloride. The use according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the anesthetic agent is used in combination with an antimicrobial agent. 6. The use of claim 5, wherein the antimicrobial agent is mupirocin or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof. The use of claim 5, wherein the antimicrobial agent is capable of killing clinically latent microorganisms.
