A transcranial magnetic stimulation system has a magnetic field generating means for generating a variable magnetic field to be used for providing magnetic stimulation to a specific part of the patient's head. The system also has a holder for holding a magnetic coil of the magnetic field generating means, cameras for recognizing respective reference markings or specific portions of ears of the patient (tragi), and laser beam oscillators. According to the system, the coil is set in a proper posture with respect to the specific part of the patient by aligning the optical axes of the cameras and the laser beam oscillators with respective tragi.
