PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling needle assembly reducing puncturing pain while maintaining puncturing property as an indwelling needle and improving operability.SOLUTION: The indwelling needle assembly includes: an inner needle 11 having a puncturing portion formed at the distal end an inner needle base 12 to which the rear end portion of the inner needle 11 is secured a hollow cover 19 through which the inner needle 11 is inserted a slide portion 20 to which the rear end of the cover 19 is secured and which is slidably engaged with the inner needle base 12 and a catheter 23 into which the inner needle 11 and the cover 19 are inserted and in which the puncturing portion of the inner needle 11 protrudes outward. A taper portion 24 tapering toward the puncturing portion of the inner needle 11 is arranged at the distal end of the catheter 23. The distal end of the cover 19 is located on the inner side of the distal end of the catheter 23. The puncturing portion of the inner needle 11 protrudes from the distal end of the cover 19 when connecting the inner needle base 12 and the slide portion 20.
