The medical instrument (1) has a shaft (2) with a grip (3) on its proximal end and a head part (4) at its distal end. The free end of the head part provides a tool (9). The grip has a portion (15) lying in the longitudinal direction of the shaft and a portion forming a free end (16). The portion forming the free end is elastically deformable relative to the elongate portion at least along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the shaft. Independent claims also cover a system including such an instrument.
