PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved occlusion device which offers increased flexibility between a disk portion and a cylindrical portion for better disk alignment to an aperture and also to improve the retention of the device, particularly in a single disk occluder device.SOLUTION: An intravascular occlusion device 10 is fabricated from braided tubular metal fabric. The braided tubular metal fabric has an expanded preset configuration and an elongated reduced diameter configuration for delivery through a catheter to a treatment site and creation of an occlusion of an abnormal opening in a body organ or vessel. The metal fabric has a memory property having tendency to return the expanded preset configuration when unconstrained. The device further includes at least one disk portion 14 adjacent a cylindrical body portion 12 formed from the metal fabric and has a transition diameter (H) between the cylindrical portion and the disk portion.
