PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel seat enabling change in size and outer shape of a reel seat body, and enabling more excellent palming and thumbing.SOLUTION: A reel seat 10 is mounted on a blank constituting a fishing rod and holds a fishing reel. The reel seat 10 comprises an adapter 12 mounted on the blank, a reel seat body, and a fastening nut 14. The adapter 12 has a base 16 and an adapter body. The adapter body has a main tube part 22 and a flange 23. The fastening nut 14 is screwed into the forward end of the main tube part 22. The fastening nut 14 holds the reel seat body 13 between itself and the flange 23. A movable hood 36 provided in the fastening nut 14 holds the fishing reel between itself and a fixing hood 32 provided in the reel seat body 13.
