摘要:
594585 Disclosed are devices and methods for delivering an aerosol of nicotine to a user’s lungs. A first embodiment of the device (see figure 1) comprises a housing (90) with a first (140) inlet, in communication with a first internal area (110), and second inlet (130), in communication with a second internal area (100), and an outlet (185). The first internal area comprises a source of a compound for forming particles comprising nicotine (190). The second internal area comprises a natural product nicotine (200) which comprises tobacco and an alkaline substance. The alkaline substance advantageously promotes the liberation of nicotine vapour. A third internal area (150) is provided in communication with the first and second internal area and the outlet. In use, first and second gaseous carriers pass through the respective first and second inlets, through the housing and out of the housing via the outlet. A second embodiment of the device (see figure 2c) comprises a housing having an inlet and an outlet in communication with each other. Within the housing there is a first internal area (30), in communication with the inlet (see figure 2c, 40), and a second internal area (see figure 2c, 20), in communication with the outlet (see figure 2c, 50). The first internal area comprises a source of a compound for forming particles comprising nicotine, and the second internal area comprises a natural product nicotine which comprises tobacco and an alkaline substance; or vice versa. The alkaline substance advantageously promotes the liberation of nicotine vapour. Methods of delivering nicotine to a subject by inhalation are also disclosed.
