In a transgenic plant, a stress-responsive promoter containing CE3 and ABRE2 fromHVA1ABRC3 and CE1 fromHVA22ABRC1, directs low background expression of a gene under normal growth conditions, but is highly inducible by an abiotic stress, such as abscisic acid, dehydration, salt or cold. Compared with the wild type plant, the transgenic plant that expresses a stress-resistant gene under the control of the stress-responsive promoter is more resistant and/or tolerant to abiotic stresses and exhibits similar or higher growth rate and strength under regular or normal environmental conditions.在轉殖基因植物中,含有來自HVA1ABRC3之CE3及ABRE2及來自HVA22ABRC1之CE1之逆境反應啟動子在正常生長條件下指導基因之低背景表現,但可由諸如脫落酸、乾旱、鹽或寒冷之非生物性逆境所高度誘導。與野生型植物相比,在逆境反應啟動子控制下表現抗逆境基因之轉殖基因植物對非生物性逆境更具抗性及/或耐受性,且在一般或正常環境條件下展現類似或較高生長速率及強度。(無元件符號說明)
