According to this invention there a novel herbal formulation for the prevention and management of coronary heart disease and associated CHD risk factors, comprising, preparing a hydromethanolic extract of at least two plants selected from of Withania somnifera, Costus speciosus, Hippophae rhamnoides and Terminalia arjuna at 60-80°C, maintaining the pH of the solution between 7-10, separating the active compounds chromatographically, subjecting the active compounds to the step of molecular characterization.La présente invention concerne une nouvelle formulation à base de plante permettant de prévenir et de traiter les maladies coronariennes et les facteurs de risque associés à ces maladies. L'invention consiste à préparer un extrait hydrométhanolique d'au moins deux plantes choisies parmi Withania somnifera, Costus speciosus, Hippophae rhamnoides et Terminalia arjuna à une température de 60 à 80 °C ； maintenir le pH de la solution entre 7 et 10 ； séparer les composés actifs par un procédé chromatographique ； et soumettre les composés actifs à une étape de caractérisation moléculaire.
