THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A METHOD FOR PRODUCING BIOPROTEIN FROM PINEAPPLE WASTES USING PHANEROCHAETE CHRYSOSPORIUM (10) CHARACTERISED BY THE STEPS OF: PRODUCING VIABLE SPORE SUSPENSION OF PHANEROCHAETE CHRYSOSPORIUM (10) AS INOCULUMS (11)MIXING PINEAPPLE WASTE 2.5% (W/V) AND NUTRIENT MEDIA COMPRISING 2.0 % (W/V)WHEAT FLOUR, 0.02 % (W/V)AMMONIUM NITRATE AND 0.02 % (W/V) POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE IN A FERMENTOR TO PRODUCE A FERMENTATION MIXTURE (12) AT PH 6 THEN INOCULATING THE FERMENTATION MIXTURE IN THE FERMENTOR WITH THE FUNGAL INOCULUMS (13) THEN INCUBATING THE FERMENTATION MIXTURE TO PRODUCE BIOMASS, WHEREIN THE INCUBATION IS CARRIED OUT AT AGITATION RATE 50-150RPM, AERATION RATE 0.5-1.0VVM, TEMPERATURE 32°C, PARTIAL PRESSURE OF OXYGEN RATE 30-50%, AND FOAM LEVEL BELOW 10% OF TOTAL MEDIA VOLUME, MAINTAINED BY MICROPROCESSOR CONTROLLER IN THE FERMENTOR (14) THEN HARVESTING THE BIOMASS FROM THE FERMENTOR AND DRYING, WHEREIN THE BIOMASS COMPRISES THE BIOPROTEIN.
