Provided is a method for controlling the state of power supply to a computer in a management apparatus for managing a plurality of computers that constitute an internal network connected to an external network. A computer to which power is supplied and another computer to which power is supplied are connected to each other so as to be communicable with each other, while a computer to which no power is supplied and another computer connected to the computer are connected to each other so as to be incommunicable with each other. The management apparatus holds communicable path information for managing communicable paths and available path information for managing available paths. The method is characterized by the management apparatus determining whether a communicable path from each computer to which power is supplied to the external network meets a predetermined condition, referring to the available path information, identifying a path other than the currently communicable path, and instructing power supply to a computer to which no power is supplied on the identified path.
