Novel antimicrobial compositions comprising at least a form or a fosfomycin (or suitable analogs or derivatives thereof), and a sulfonamide (or suitable analogs or derivatives thereof), and/or a diaminopyridine (or suitable analogs or derivatives thereof) are described. Said antimicrobial compositions generally include two or more of said components provided as a combination, or in a single combination, or may be provided independently. The novel antimicrobial compositions (having its components provided independently or in some combination) are, when provided as the two or more components, found to be effective against susceptible microorganisms, and are found to be effective against drug-resistant bacteria, including multi-drug resistant bacteria.
