The present invention relates to a device for detecting sudden increases in the moisture on a patients skin and/or for detecting sudden excess fluid on the skin of a patient comprising a resistive sensor including two electrodes suitable for affixment to the patient, means to calibrate the sensor during use in accordance with gradual changes in moisture on the patients skin and to provide an upper or lower resistance threshold and an alert activated when the resistance between the two electrodes exceeds the upper or lower resistance threshold. There is also provided a method of detecting sudden increases in the moisture on a patients skin, in particular during dialysis.La présente invention concerne un dispositif pour détecter les augmentations soudaines de lhumidité sur la peau dun patient et/ou pour détecter un excès soudain de fluide sur la peau dun patient comprenant un capteur résistif comprenant deux électrodes adaptées pour fixation sur le patient, des moyens pour étalonner le capteur pendant lutilisation conformément à des changements progressifs dhumidité sur la peau du patient et pour fournir un seuil de résistance supérieur ou inférieur et une alerte activée lorsque la résistance entre les deux électrodes dépasse le seuil de résistance supérieur ou inférieur. Linvention concerne en outre un procédé de détection daugmentations soudaines dhumidité sur la peau dun patient, en particulier pendant la dialyse.
