Disclosed is a tablet packaging device for improved efficiency of pill or medicament packaging and to make fewer packaging errors when prescribed tablets are packaged in respective storage cavities of a blister packaging tray. A packaging section (14) of the tablet packaging device is provided with: a placement base (30) of a tray (24)； a drawer (23) storing the placement base (30)； a carrier (37) provided with compartments (67) corresponding to the storage concave portions of the tray (24)； a drive device (39) of the carrier (37)； a shutter opening/closing a bottom of the carrier (37)； and an opening/closing device (40) of the shutter, and the drive device (39) performs a step of defining a tablet discharge position on the tray (24) as an original position and returning to the original position through a tablet reception start position and a tablet reception end position which are set below a discharge opening (21). A step of sequentially moving each compartment (67) of the carrier (37) below the discharge opening (21) from the tablet reception start position to the tablet reception end position during the step to receive one tray of tablets is performed. When the carrier (37) returns to the discharge position, the shutter is opened. A method of use is also disclosed.
