PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a capsule in a capsule endoscope system without narrowing the target range of depth for radiography.

SOLUTION: An optical image of a subject is projected on a light receiving surface 21 through an imaging lens 10 configured to project a prescribed enlarged optical image of the subject located within the target range of depth for radiography on the light receiving surface 21 at an approximately constant and axially symmetrical resolution. An imaging element 20 captures the optical image of the subject projected on the light receiving surface 21, and a transmission part 25 transmits a signal Sg expressing image data representing the optical image of the subject captured by the imaging element 20 to outside. The transmitted signal Sg is received outside the capsule 30, and the image data expressed by the received signal Sg is subjected to a resolution improving process for improving the resolution of the image represented in the image data.
