PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter that improves efficiency of removing a blocker in a blood vessel, causes no damage to a retrograde guide wire, and smoothly performs expansion and contraction of a mesh member having a protection film.SOLUTION: A catheter 11 has a protection film 70A for coating the inner periphery on the rear end side of a tube-like mesh member 30 in which a first element wire 31 and a second element wire 32 are interknitted and which expands and contracts in a radial direction. The protection film 70A is joined only to either the first element wire 31 or the second element wire 32. Thereby, efficiency of removing a blocker in a blood vessel can be improved, damage to a retrograde guide wire hardly occurs, and expansion and contraction of the mesh member 30 having the protection film 70A can be performed smoothly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
