PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion type hair cosmetic which is creamy or waxy, spreads well, when applied to the hair, is greasy only a little, makes hair arrangement easy, exhibits an excellent hairdressing performance, gives the hair natural luster without oily appearance, and keeps styled hair well.SOLUTION: The emulsion type hair cosmetic comprises 0.1-20.0 mass% of (A) a semi-solid oil of plant origin and/or a vegetable oil, 1.0-30.0 mass% of (B) candelilla wax, 1.0-30.0 mass% of (C) an oil liquid at room temperature and (D) a composite body obtained by mixing (D1) a specific amphoteric surfactant and/or a semi-polar surfactant and (D2) a higher fatty acid. The content of (D1) is 0.3-4.0 mass%. The aggregate content of (D1) and (D2) is 0.5-12.0 mass%.
