The invention relates to an orthopaedic implant (3) for permanent fastening to bones in the body of vertebrates and/or humans, in particular in order thereby to interlock vertebrae, which implant has an elongate, substantially cylindrical basic body (15)and can be introduced into the patient by a minimally invasive treatment causing limited trauma to the surrounding tissue. In order to improve the healing process and recovery time on a long-term basis, the implant according to the invention has an external fixing thread (11) for screwing into the bone.
