Inner and outer surfaces of a container which is filled with drink are sterilized. A sterilizer is applied to an outer surface of a container (2) by blasting the sterilizer toward the outer surface of the container from at least one nozzle for sterilizer (26a-26d) disposed so as not to intersect with a mouth portion (2a) of the container, an inner surface of the container is sterilized by heat of a hot-water supplied into the container from a nozzle for hot-water, and the sterilizer adhering to the outer surface of the container is activated with the heat transferred from the hot-water to thereby sterilize the outer surface of the container.
