Provided is monomerizing method for matrix metalloproteinases 7 (MMP-7) associate. The monomerizing method for MMP-7 includes treating MMP-7 associate by a buffer having low concentration of 1 valent cation chlorides (sodium chloride, potassium chloride and the like), or by the same buffer having no 1 valent cation chlorides. The present invention provides a MMP-7 producing method incorporated with the monomerizing method, and a (pharmaceutical) composition having MMP-7 being dissolved in the above buffer.
