The device has an elongated dental setting element (13) made of photopolymerizable resin pre-impregnated particles and fiber-based composite material. The element forms a strengthening splint for strengthening teeth with each other after polymerization. A flexible and deformable applicator (10) is made of a light conducting material or a tacked material that is adapted for adhering the splint temporarily to tooth surfaces. The element is photopolymerizable by insulation through the applicator.
