PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester that prevents crops from falling.SOLUTION: The carrot harvester includes a harvesting part C that pulls up crops from a farm field, holds leaves and stems of crops and then conveys them upward, position uniforming apparatuses 100 that control rising of root parts of the crops conveyed by the harvesting part C and uniform the heights of the upper ends of the root parts of the crops and a stem, and a leaf cutting apparatus 61 that cuts the leaves and stems of the crops having uniform heights, the position uniforming apparatuses 100R and 100L are arranged in a right and left pair to form a gap through which the leaves and stems of the crops are passed and each position uniforming apparatus has rotary endless position uniforming chains 48, guide bodies 101 that are mounted on the position uniforming chains 48 and control the upper ends of the root parts of the crops and retention parts 110 that are mounted on the chains 48 and hold the leaves and stems when the leaves and stems of the crops are passed.
