The invention relates to an oral care product comprising a lactylate of formula (I): where R = CH3(CH2)nCO and n is an integer from 4 to 14, M is H+, an alkali metal ion, an earth alkali metal ion, or a transition metal ion b is an integer which corresponds to the valence of M, and a is 1 or 2, and optionally a surfactant which is not a lactylate having formula (I). This invention is targeted to the control of oral bacteria, thereby preventing, reducing, controlling and/or removing dental plaque and oral infections by orally applying the lactylate.Linvention se rapporte à un produit de soins oraux comprenant un lactylate de la formule I : dans laquelle R = CH3(CH2)nCO et nest un entier de 4 à 14, M est H+, un ion métallique alcalin, un ion métallique alcalino-terreux ou un ion métallique de transition b est un entier qui correspond à la valence de M et a est 1 ou 2 et éventuellement un agent tensioactif qui nest pas un lactylate présentant la formule I.
