PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ended or endless belt from coming off when a propelling force for assisting insertion of an endoscope by allowing the belt to travel.SOLUTION: An insertion assistance implement 20 comprises an endless belt 30, and a support drive section for circulating the belt 30. The support drive section sandwiches the endless belt 30 by using a worm gear 41 and a following roller 56, and allows the endless belt 30 to travel by rotating the worm gear 41. Protrusions 60, 61 are formed on both ends of the endless belt 30, respectively.
