Methods and apparatus for removing blood clots and tissue from intracranial space of the patients head using an ultrasound device under visualization guidance to locate, dissolve and remove the blood clots outside the patients head are provided. One or more pharmacologic agents may be delivered to the treatment area to further facilitate removal of the blood clots or other tissue.
