Provided is an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of automatically correcting and changing a first position of a Doppler gate to a second position so that a user does not need to search for a position of a target. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a probe an image processor configured to generate a Doppler flow imaging an output portion configured to display the Doppler flow imaging generated by the image processor and a controller configured to control the probe so that the probe radiates a first ultrasonic signal based on a position of the Doppler gate, and the probe radiates a second ultrasonic signal to a predetermined range based on the position of the Doppler gate, and configured to move the position of the Doppler gate on the Doppler flow imaging based on the received first ultrasonic signal and second ultrasonic signal.
